THE team at Denbighshire Home-Start is working overtime’ in extending its Helping Hand fund thanks to a £3,000 grant from Denbighshire Foyer.

Helping Hand provides essential emergency items for children and their families to enable them to survive unexpected challenges which unchecked would lead to unacceptable hardship.

Meira Wyn Owen, Home-Start Manager said: “This money is already making a difference to local children. Sadly, we have seen an increase in requests for emergency support for families who are working so hard to make ends meet, for their children, but are faced with unexpected events which are jeopardising their wellbeing.

“Helping Hand is offering immediate respite to enable families to get back on their feet. This money is really making a difference.”

Denbighshire Foyer, a charity that supports children and young people living in financial hardship, was established more than 20 years ago. It provides grants to organisations and individuals living in Denbighshire in support of young people. It has helped numerous Denbighshire young people with education, training, and accommodation.
