A DEESIDE group is aiming to raise funds for a national charity.

Deeside Ladies Circle will host a Ladies Charity Afternoon Tea event at Hawarden Institute in June to raise funds for Parkinson's UK.

The event will include Fashion by Trilby Pheasant, chocolates from Precious Chocolates and candles from Moments Candles.

Cathryn Kerwin-Rawlinson, chair of the group, said Parkinson's is an important cause to donate to as it can affect many people across the UK.

She added: "My Mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and I watched a documentary about six weeks ago about finding a cure for the disease.

"However, since then I've been in touch with the Chester District, based on the North Wales side of Saltney, who are looking to support sufferers and help them manage the condition along with friendship.

"I'm organising an event in June at Hawarden Institute and tickets on sale now. All proceeds will go to Parkinson's UK, in particular the Chester base.

"We've teamed up with fashion boutique trilby pheasant in Hawarden to provide a fashion show and precious chocolates and moments candle co.

"It's a fun filled afternoon and we will be putting on afternoon tea for our guests."

Tickets cost £15 and £7 if ladies want to bring children aged 7 - 12.

The event will take place on Sunday, June 9 between 1pm and 5pm.
