SCHOOL pupils were tasked to come up with a road name.

Wales and West Housing asked pupils at Ysgol Penmorfa to come up with a name where 10 of their new homes will be located, off Grosvenor Road.

A postbox was left in the classroom for names to be put forward and a shortlist of seven was drawn up.

The most popular name put forward, by children aged eight to nine, was Ffordd Penmorfa. The school was presented with a ipad by Wales and West Housing as a thank you to the pupils for their help.

Teacher Liz Alexander said: “The children had lots of fun coming up with the names and it helped them to learn more about the area where they live at the same time.

“The name they have come up with will serve as a permanent reminder of their work and creativity, which is fantastic, and we’re very grateful to Wales & West Housing for asking us to be involved.”

Other submissions put forward included Ffordd Cefnfor (Ocean Road) and Ffordd y Mor (Sea Road), Ffordd Llys (Court Road) and Ffordd Cyfiawnder (Justice Road).
