A DENBIGHSHIRE company has claimed multiple awards.

JM Renewable Solutions, situated in Bodelwyddan, has recently won a number of awards, including the highly commended Renewable Heat Installer (RHI) installer of the year, and overall winner of the project of the year with a value up to £250,000 at the 2019 Welsh Energy Efficiency Awards, held in Cardiff.

This category was the most prestigious of the event with the highest number of entering companies.

The award was for work carried out in renovation of the old Meliden goods yard near Prestatyn.

The company was awarded the contract by WD Stant Ltd on behalf of Grwp Cynefin housing association to manage and install all mechanical, electrical and renewable aspects of the project.

This project is unique due to the long-standing history of the building and the pivotal role it has played in the local community throughout the years.

The aim of this project was to transform this iconic old railway building and see it returned to good use, whilst creating opportunity to provide social, economic and environmental benefit to the wider community.

Although the building itself dates back to time stream locomotives were in their heyday, Grwp Cynefin was keen to ensure that up to date energy systems were installed and so the building now incorporates an air source heat pump.

"We were privileged to have been chosen for this project," said Ben Musgrave, a director of JM Renewable Solutions.

"We have been able to work closely with our clients, architects, builders and other associate trades, and look forward to seeing the benefit it will bring to the local community and tourism as a whole in the area."

The company specialises in the installation of renewable energy technologies, including ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, solar PV, solar thermal, battery storage and electric vehicle charging points for domestic, commercial and residential customers, in addition to working closely with builders and architects in Wales and the North West.

The company has grown extensively over the last four years, creating 10 new positions.

Over the past 18 months, the company has experienced a significant uptake in renewable energy installations due to increasing government incentives, raising fossil fuel costs, product innovations and overall awareness of the technologies.
