THE Denbigh and District Summer Darts League played out its individual preliminary stages in the latest darting instalment, with some old heads advancing to the semi-final evening.

In the ladies' section, played at the Wings Club, relative newcomer Lois Gaze made it through to the last-four stage where she will lock horns with a former champion in the Hand Inn's Jill Williams.

The second section at the Wings saw the vastly experienced White Lion darter Cynthia Webster get through and she will take on Golden Lion C player Vicky Langan.

In the Mens B draw at the White Lion, Mike Wills (Wings B) advanced to the semi-final, were he will face teammate Stuart Olding for a place in the Final.

At the Golden Lion, Neville Hughes booked his place alongside Hand B darter and landlord Steve Wynne.

There was joy at the Railway section in the men's A quarter for the Kinmel's Eric Harris, who defeated Stewart Clarke in the board final.

Clarke had hit two 180s in the previous rounds, but he was unable to stop Harris' rich vein of form.

Reigning champion Danny Tinney was toppled out of the Masons draw as multiple individual winner Dilwyn Martin held his nerve to defeat Peter Martin in the final game of the night to advanced to semi-finals night.

Another former champion booked his ticket for the last-four by winning the Golden Lion section in the shape of Steve Gierke.

Elsewhere, Dylan Anderson (Wings A) defeated two-time singles champion David Davies in the Hand Inn board final to complete the line-up.
