PUPILS got active during a school's first ever 'fit day'.
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School were involved in a number of activities provided by sports groups including Eirias Hockey Club, Colwyn Bay Rugby Club, the Immortals Gym Thai Boxing, Colwyn Bay Football Club, MW Sports and Colwyn Bay Cricket Club.

Each class also took part in their own sponsored mini-marathon around Rydal Field, on Brackley Avenue, with money raised going towards headteacher James Wilkinson's campaign to support the School’s Play Therapist who carries out work in meeting the wide ranging and complex needs of many of the most vulnerable learners.
Children from nursery to year six managed more than 1100 laps of the field, totalling 276 miles - more than 10 marathons.
The afternoon also supported Mr Wilkinson who is running the London Marathon this month.

Parent Helen Mulley, who helped to organise the day, said: “It was amazing to see the children taking part in so many different activities and supporting Mr Wilkinson in his marathon training.
"I was impressed with some of the sporting ability on display and I’m sure we have some sports stars of the future in our midst."
Tatws Trading contributed fruit for fruit kebabs and healthy smoothies and Hoff’s Cakes donated cakes for parents and other observers.
Gary Williamson, of Immortals Gym Thai Boxing, said: “It was an absolute honour for our club to be involved in such a special event for a worthwhile and valuable cause."
Tim Baker of Eirias Hockey Club said: “The opportunity to present our sport to so many young people was very welcome and amongst the many who ‘passed through our hands’ there were several who displayed a natural aptitude for the sport.
"I am sure our sentiments are echoed by the other sports that were in attendance and the School is to be congratulated not only on their hard work and organisation, but also on their initiative in setting it up in the first place."
