A ‘PHENOMENAL’ drugs dogs who cracked thousands of cases with both North Wales and Cheshire Police has died at the age of 14.
The death of Labrador Molly was announced on the North Wales and Cheshire Police Dogs with ‘great sadness’.
The post read: “Molly was a phenomenal drugs dog and served eleven exceptional years accounting for over 2,000 arrests some of which were of very high, street value narcotics
“Run free over the rainbow with your canine pals Molly, your duty is done.”
It is said that she spent her retirement years with her handler and family who will miss her greatly.
Hundreds of people gave moving tributes to the retired police dog in the social media post comments. Many also gave heartfelt condolences to her family and former police colleagues.
One wrote: “As a dog lover and having felt the pain of losing a dog know matter what her job was, this is heart-breaking. The rainbow bridge is all yours Molly.”
Another posted: “A very special dog who will always be remembered with affection by those she worked alongside.”
A third said: “Stand down PD Molly. Your duty is done, we salute you. Thinking of your family and former colleagues at this sad time.”
