AUDIENCES will be treated to a majestic performance on Good Friday.

The event on April 19 will be hosted a Corpus Christi Church in Tremeirchion,

The Tremeirchion Bach Choir and orchestra will be performing the Bach St Matthew Passion.

They will be joined by soloists Eleanor Parsons, Benjamin Williamson, Oliver Sammons, Malcolm Williams and Ben Ridler.

Singing the role of Christ will be Dominic Rose while Stephen Newlove will be singing the role of the Evangelist. The conductor will be Lorna Todd.

Parishioner Mair Dowell said: "This will be the 55th annual performance of this majestic work in Tremeirchion Church and the small ancient Church brings to this great work the devotional atmosphere in which it was first performed in Leipzig on Good Friday 1727.

"During the performance there is a very moving and special feeling in the Church which is very hard to describe but very stimulating to experience.

"Do come along and experience a very special start to the Easter Weekend."
