Alastair House has been chosen by residents and their families as one of the Top 20 care homes in Wales.

There are 1,059 homes in Wales, with the top 20 receiving an award from the leading reviews guide to care homes, carehome.co.uk.

The award is based on reviews of the care home written by their residents, as well as their friends and relatives.

Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of carehome.co.uk, said: “It is only the residents and their families and friends who can give a real insight into what a care home is like, which is why we use their reviews to find the best care homes in the UK. Choosing a care home can be a time consuming and exhausting process so we hope our awards help make the search easier.

“Alastair House has proved they provide a high standard of care and we would like to congratulate them on being a Top 20 care home in Wales! It is a huge achievement to be recognised for being a top rated care home by the people receiving the care.

“The reviews on carehome.co.uk reveal that many care homes are filled with warmth and laughter, where staff do their utmost to ensure residents continue to live life to the full and are treated with dignity and respect.”

Lakhansi Keshwalla, owner of Alastair House, said: “We are so delighted to know that Alastair House has been awarded for the fifth time the Top 20 Award.

"Manager Amanda Whittey and staff have worked hard all the year. Our main aim is to keep every person happy and enjoy during their stay at Alastair House. The first Top 20 award in Wales we received in 2015, since then we have never looked back and work hard every year to get in the Top 20 Awards. I especially thank our residents’ family and friends who always support each and every activity we organise for their wellbeing.”
