A RANTING villager streamed a rooftop stand-off with police live on Facebook as he directed his “poison” at a policewoman, a court heard on Friday.

Foul-mouthed David Anthony Lewis, 31, of Tre Rhosyr, Newborough, Anglesey, stayed on the roof for three hours after police went to his home to arrest him on a warrant, Caernarfon crown court was told.

Prosecutor Karl Scholz said Lewis was persuaded to come down then bailed and attended Caernarfon magistrates’ court.

But he was abusive to police officers in the building and later posted on Facebook photographs and a video he had taken of them with a mobile phone.

During a second visit to the court he had again filmed officers in the waiting area and been abusive.

Lewis, described by the prosecution as having an “appalling” record including for violence, was jailed for two years and four months.

He admitted threatening behaviour, taking snaps at the court, and breaching a criminal behaviour order.(CBO)

Judge Timothy Petts extended the CBO until 2023.

He said Lewis’s anti-social behaviour was “completely unacceptable.”

Dafydd Roberts, defending, said Lewis had begun to disclose “issues.”

He added :”There’s no doubt Mr Lewis has a very volatile personality.”
