THE Brighton cat killer has attacked another pet, it has been reported.

Police are investigating the killing of a cat, which was found with “fatal injuries” to its stomach in Shaftesbury Road, Brighton on Monday evening.

The attack was in the same area as another 14 killings which are attributed to the cat attacker.

Animal charity Snarl has warned people in the area to be vigilant and keep their cats inside at night.

Boudicca Rising, founder of the charity set up investigate another cat killer, said: “It looks to me like it’s someone local who is doing this.

“The attacks are stabbing injuries whereby the cat is left to walk home alive to its owner.

“Everyone needs to keep their eyes open and install CCTV if they live around the area.”

The Brighton cat killer is thought to operate around the Ditchling Rise area of Brighton.

Sussex Police has not confirmed the attack is linked to the serial cat attacker.

A spokeswoman said: “The exact nature of the cause is being investigated.

“Police are keeping an open mind but will consider whether this incident is linked to Operation Diverge, which is looking at a number of similar incidents in the city.”

“There have been 14 other cat deaths reported to police and detectives are appealing for anyone with information about this or any other to report online https://www.sussex.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/ or call 101 quoting Operation Diverge. “
