She is currently wowing audiences as character Judy Bernly in West End musical 9 to 5 which is running at the Savoy Theatre, London.

Speaking to the Journal, Susan Davies, Amber’s mum, said: “Amber’s one off documentary shows her journey, from reality to West End.

“She did audition for the role. Quite a few people think she didn’t, but she auditioned just like everyone else and got the role based on her own talents and merits.

“She was so excited to meet Dolly and flying out to Nashville.

“It shows her, not moving away from reality tv, but moving in other directions.

“She is so excited about the show as it shows her as a normal person. It shows her personality and how grounded she is."

The one off special also feature appearances from Amber’s co stars Louise Redknapp and Brian Conley, both of whom are in the musical.

Due to injury, Louise will not join the show until March. Caroline Sheen is currently is performing the role of Violet Newstead.

Amber has admitted that performing on the West End has long been a dream of hers.

Susan attended both the opening and the press night of 9 to 5. Susan's mother and father - Jeanette and Doug Griffiths - were also interviewed by ITV2 and Good Morning Britain.

Susan added: “Going to the press night was incredible. We met with so many celebrities, even Kylie Minogue.

“The press night was about three weeks after the opening, which is sort of a preview.

“Dolly Parton went up on the stage on the press night which was amazing. I couldn’t believe we were there, never do you think you are going to even step foot in the Savoy Hotel [at the show’s gala performance].

“Amber is so professional. She is a little power house. She deserves to be there. Bruno Tonioli, from Strictly Come Dancing, was asking - 'who is that girl?' She deserves her place.

"My mother and father were just so overwhelmed.

"It is such a humorous and fun show. It is so uplifting.

"The cast is fantastic. Brian Conley [who plays Franklin Hart] is brilliant and Bonnie Langford. It is lovely seeing Natalie McQueen, Caroline and Amber together. The three of them support each other."

Last week, Amber had to miss one day of the run when she came down with a throat infection.

"She was disappointed as she didn't want to miss," Susan added.

"She is doing eight days a week and she is absolutely loving it."

Amber appeared in OK magazine this week talking about her new apartment.

Susan said: "She has been in OK magazine before, but last time it was with Kem [Cetinay]. This is the first time she has done it alone which is lovely for her. She talks about her new apartment and the transition from reality to West End.

"On the press night, Amber's manager was walking her round, introducing her to people. I don't think she could quite get her head round it all on press night and where she is, it has all been worthwhile.

Both Amber and her sister Jade and in this musical theatre industry.

"We are just a normal family so it is just lovely to be involved in this world."
