AS RUGBY fans head to the pub to watch the big match between Wales and England this afternoon, the ambulance service has called for responsible drinking so that its resources are not stretched where they are most needed.
Wales Ambulance has asked the public to help save time for "life-threatening emergencies" rather than an unnecessary incident caused by drinking during the Six Nations clash on Saturday afternoon.
An ambulance spokesperson tweeted: "Remember today that our ambulances are not a taxi service to home or hospital after the Six Nations Rugby.
"Enjoy the game, but be responsible and don’t take us away from a life-threatening emergency by causing a drink-related incident.
"Help keep 999 for real emergencies only."
If an incident takes place that requires ambulance assistance you should call 999.
