Groundwork North Wales is running three free events at Minera Lead Mines and country park this February half term,

There are two events for the whole family to participate in plus the opportunity for adults to learn more about this historical site through a history walk.

On Monday, February 25, there will be a Feathers, Feeders and Fun event taking place from 1pm to 3pm where all the family can enjoy a fun trail around the country park, spotting birds and making a simple bird feeder to take home.

Children will have an opportunity to explore the park with an experienced guide on Friday, March 1, to learn more about the wildlife residents through a fun game of Nature Bingo. Visitors can choose from two sessions, one at 10.30am and another at 11.45am, with each session lasting around 45 minutes.

On Thursday, February 28, Groundwork will be holding a fascinating history walk for adults exploring the mine workings and industrial heritage.

The walk will start from the visitor centre at 1.30pm and last approximately an hour and a half.

There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the full range of great volunteering opportunities that are available at Minera for those who are interested in supporting this interesting and important heritage site.

There is no need to book for any of these events, all activities are free of charge and free parking is available on site.

Children’s activities are suitable for all ages and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Minera Lead Mines reopen to the public at weekends from 10am to 4pm, from Saturday, February 23. Contact Groundwork North Wales on 01978 757524 or email info@groundworknorthwales.org.uk.
