NEW photographs show progress at the site of Rhyl's £23million faith school.

External and internal shots show that progress of Christ the Word, to replace Ysgol Mair and Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School, is moving at a good pace and remains on track.

The school will cater for 420 full time pupils aged between three and11 and 500 pupils aged 11-16.

A spokesman for Denbighshire County Council said: "Window installation and brickwork at the school is ongoing on schedule.

"Planning for the new school is progressing in earnest towards the opening of Christ the Word Catholic school in September.

"A number of key milestones are coming up and these will be shared with the pupils, parents and the public soon.”

Cllr Huw Hilditch-Roberts, the Council’s lead member for Education, Children and Young People, said: “ The school’s construction is coming along very well and this fantastic new school will help us achieve our goal of providing modern school facilities across Denbighshire that further enhance pupils’ learning.”
