A PUPIL was left "traumatised" after being hit by a ceiling tile.
The incident is understood to have happened last Tuesday at Prestatyn High School. The ceiling tile was blown off in a corridor after a door was slammed shut by the wind.
The child was treated for minor injuries and first aid was given. They are now back in school.
A parent, who asked not to be named, said: "It injured the child. They were hysterical and covered with blood. The headteacher was on scene to sort the situation out.
"I was in the school waiting at the time. I have children at the school.
"The child was traumatised."
A spokesman for Denbighshire County Council said: “An internal ceiling tile was blown off in a corridor following a door being slammed shut by the wind.
“A pupil, who is now back in school, sustained a minor injury and first aid was given.
“Following the incident the area was reviewed immediately, cordoned off and senior staff and the headteacher assessed the area and ensured there was no further risk.
“The council and the school are satisfied the area and the tiles are safe and the corridor is now back in use.”
