An autistic teenager, said to have a fixation with indecent images of children, has admitted distributing and making by downloading such images, including some of the most serious kind.

Cameron Meaden, 18, of Victoria Road, Rhyl, was bailed pending sentence and must register with the police as a sex offender.

At Mold Crown Court he admitted distributing five indecent images of children at the most serious category A between August 30 and September 3 last year.

He also admitted distributing five category B images and seven category C.

Meaden admitted making by downloading 180 category A images and movies, 118 at category B and 408 at category C - and possessing six prohibited images and 13 extreme images involving people and animals.

The court heard he had a relevant previous conviction when he was aged 16.

Defending barrister Simon Killeen said Meaden was a rather troubled young man.

He had been diagnosed with autism and was said to have a fixation with such images.

A psychologist’s report had been prepared, and an addendum would be asked for.

The judge agreed to adjourn for a pre-sentence report from the probation service.

He will be sentenced on February 25.
