A NEW image and video showing the pool at Rhyl's new waterpark being filled have been released.

The £15m SC2 attraction is set to make a splash when it opens in April 2019.

Being built on the town's former skate park, SC2 will boast a 1,200-metre square water space, flume rides, beach style paddling, feature slides and themed cafes. Slides include Anaconda, Speedster and Boomerang.

There will also be a Piranha Play area for younger visitors with interactive water features to explore.

Junior Tag, the first of its kind in the UK, will be based in SC2, along side the main Tag Active - the first in Wales - which is described as Ninja Warrior meets Total Wipeout.

Posting on Facebook on Sunday, December 30, Denbighshire County Council wrote: "The pool is being filled at SC2 – who else can’t wait to play in on our ‘Piranha Play’ installation?"

A video, showing 'a sneaky peak' of inside SC2 - with the water going in, was also published.

Individual tickets will go on sale in January 2019 on the SC2 website. There will be a discount for Denbighshire Leisure card holders.
