AT THIS important time of year for the Christian faith, I send my best wishes to all my constituents celebrating Christmas.

For many people Christmas is an opportunity to not only celebrate the birth of Christ, but, beneath the hustle and bustle of the festive season, there is the true beauty of connecting with loved ones, and for those fortunate enough to have them close by, Christmas is a wonderful time. However, we must not forget all those for who the festive season will not be so joyous – those spending Christmas alone, those who has lost loved ones and those battling illness.

We must also remember those serving in the armed forces across the world and their families here at home and give special thanks to all those people who will be working over the Christmas period in the emergency services, hospitals, power stations and all other essential services. We must also give thanks to those who do voluntary work in the community over the Christmas period.

May the joy and peace of Christmas be with you all throughout the Year – Nadolig llawen a blwyddyn newydd dda.
