ON SATURDAY Rudolph and Dasher will be making a stop in Prestatyn.

Father Christmas will be making a special visit to the town on December 15 to open his 'secret garden' at the town's Vicarage Gardens.

The event, running between 11am and 5pm, will feature a small Christmas market, mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pie, Santa's magical express land train, festive crafts, living nativity with a real donkey, treasure hunt and more.

Two real reindeer will accompany Father Christmas.

A spokesperson for Prestatyn Town Council said: "Unfortunately one of Santa’s elves is on the naughty list and so will be causing havoc throughout the day so watch out for him throwing snowballs and playing tricks.

"We will also welcome local singers and choirs to fill the day with traditional songs. There will also be a chance to ride on Santa’s magical express around Prestatyn.

"This is the first type of this Christmas event and we are really hoping that it is well supported so that it can grow and become an annual event."

Father Christmas will be in his grotto with his elves from 11am until 5pm. Each child will get a present, a Polaroid photograph, a sticker and some sweets.

There is a charge of £4.50 per child or three children, all going in together, for £10.

Only one Polaroid photo supplied for this price.

There will be a snow fall over the event every half an hour throughout the day.

Visitors will also get a chance to make their own decoration or gift tags, make their own reindeer food or get a temporary tattoo.

The event will be free to enter and there will be a minimal charge to take part in some of the activities.
