AUDIENCES left a concert well and truly in the festive spirit on Sunday.

Rhyl's Christmas Pops celebrations, staged at a packed St Thomas’ Church, was headlined by classical singing brothers Richard and Adam Johnson.

Ysgol Emmanuel School Choir opened the festivities at the annual concert.

The line-up also included singer Georgia Holland and the Denbighshire County Youth Brass Band.

Richard and Adam Johnson, who made it to the final of Britain's Got Talent in 2013 and had number one album The Impossible Dream, had audiences on their feet during a rousing finale.

The concert was organised by Denbighshire County Council in partnership with Rhyl Town Council.

A spokesman for the local authority said: "The Christmas Pops concert was tremendously successful and we are delighted with the response of the congregation. Christmas Pops has long established as one of the key celebrations of Christmas in Rhyl and this free event attracts a lot of interest and people wanting to get into the festive spirit.

"The feedback at the event was extremely positive and we are delighted to be working with Rhyl Town Council to put on the best show possible.

"We are also delighted to be able to attract headline artists, as well as celebrating some local talent and providing them with a stage to entertain the audiences."

A raffle raised more than £800 for disadvantaged children at Christmas.
