CLASS A drugs and weapons have been seized in a bid to frustrate 'County Lines' trafficking in Rhyl.

North Wales and Merseyside Police coordinated in the joint raid as part of 'Operation Trick', which aims to identify suspects trafficking drugs from the Merseyside area into the town.

During the operation a number of arrests for drug possession and possession of offensive weapons were made following stop searches.

A warrant was also executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act, resulting in an arrest and seizure of class A and class B drugs.

Sgt 1438 Mark Jones said: “The co-ordinated action was conducted to safeguard the residents of Rhyl, victims of drug use, vulnerable people affected by Cuckooing and removing drugs and weapons from circulation.

“Future joint operations are being planned as Merseyside and North Wales Police continue to work together in frustrating organised criminals using the County Lines model.”
