THE pride of place in Abergele's Christmas lights display has been revealed.
Abergele and Pensarn will reprise the tradition of featuring special Christmas motifs designed by the towns’ schoolchildren, with nine year old Ysgol Sant Elfod pupil Evelyn Kirkham's winning design The Sparkling Heart.
The motif will be illuminated for the first time from the Friday, November 30 at 4pm.
The winning design will be viewable alongside previous winners - including the Christmas Santa Dragon motif designed by fellow pupil Ysgol Sant Elfod pupil Haleema Mohammed last year - at the Tesco roundabout for the duration of the festive season.
Joining the motifs are community Christmas trees in the Pensarn, Belgrano and St George as well as in Abergele's Llanfair Road, Rhuddlan Road and Sea Road locations. The Town Hall will also have the dressed live tree.
The main scheme, organised by the Christmas decoration committee of Abergele Town Council, will feature three dimensional and twinkling star lights visible along Chapel Street, Market Street, Bridge Street, and Water street, and on Marine Road in Pensarn.
In addition to the main display, more than 60 miniature trees will be lit up by Abergele Round Table and Wood’s Motorcycles - who did the fabrications work and helped wire the displays.
Cllr Andrew Wood, of Wood's Motorcycles, said: " "Thank you to Conwy County council and Abergele businesses for helping out with what promises to be another dazzling Christmas display in Abergele and Pensarn."
