AN ARMY sergeant described as a "true Welsh warrior" has died after being involved in a road traffic accident.
Sgt Richard Williams, a "much-loved" member of Delta Company who served with the 1st Battalion of The Royal Welsh, died yesterday (Tuesday) after the incident.
A spokesperson from the Royal Welsh said: "He was a true Welsh Warrior, he was a veteran of one operational deployment to Iraq, three to Afghanistan and one to Estonia.
"His loss has been felt by the whole regiment and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Rhian, brother David and wider family at this difficult time."
It is understood the Sgt Williams, a father, was from the Prestatyn area.
