A TRAINEE accountant is hoping it’ll add up for the judges in her bid to be crowned Miss GB 2018.

Miss Rhyl 2018, Holly Moynihan of Dyserth, will travel to the Athena in Leicester on Thursday, September 13 to compete in a two day final against 51 other pageant queens from the across the UK for a chance to win the coveted title.

Despite earning the Rhyl crown in May, her win in this year’s competition was judged solely on an online submission, including a personal statement and a selection of photos, rather than in live heats.

Holly, originally of Prestatyn, said: “Competing for the main title is a huge step up for as I’ve never done any pageants in the past. I’m hoping to bring my friendly and engaging personality as well as some lovely dresses.

“I’m so excited and nervous about the final, I can’t wait.”

As part of the competition Holly - who danced with the North Wales School of Dance from the age of six until 18 - had to attend a masterclass last month to learn a special routine for the opening of the competition.

The 27 year old, who is currently studying for her exams to become a chartered accountant and works part-time and works at the Plough Inn in St Asaph, has also been busy fundraising for Global Radio’s Make Some Noise campaign ahead of the competition, including a sponsored walk up Snowdon last month and indulging her other passion, baking, with an Afternoon tea at her home for friends and family. .

Holly added: "Fundraising is an integral part of the Miss GB competition, and it is definitely something I am passionate about. I really believe that pageant girls should use their voice to raise awareness and as much money as possible for such wonderful causes.

I completed the walk up Snowdon with my cousin Sophie, and I’m trying to run as many miles as possible before the final. I study at home for my accounting exams and I find running a great way to unwind."
