AN ELDERLY victim has been left shaken after a number of men broke into a property and stole cash.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the burglary in the Bryn Teg area of Towyn, Abergele, on Wednesday, August 15.

The incident happened just before 9pm.

The offenders are described as wearing dark clothing.

DC Kelly Taylor-Jones, of St Asaph CID, said: “Fortunately incidents such as this are very rare but we would just ask members of the public to be vigilant and to always request identification of any officials be proven prior to allowing entry into your home.

"There will be increased police patrols in the area and a team of detectives are in the process of examining CCTV and speaking to witnesses."

The victim is being supported by family and specialist officers and is described as "clearly shaken".

The men left the scene in a grey coloured 1 series BMW vehicle which travelled along Towyn Road West onto the Coast Road.

DC Taylor-Jones added: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area between 8pm and 9.30pm on Wednesday, August 15, and especially from drivers who have been travelling along Bryn Teg, Towyn Road West or the Coast Road who may have dashcam footage.”
