FENCES surrounding a beauty spot have been targeted by vandals.
A section of fencing was damaged earlier this month at Rhuddlan Nature Reserve, which is managed by Denbighshire Countryside Service.
Rhuddlan town councillor Gareth Smith said: "I don’t know when the damage occurred or the circumstances surrounding it, but have visited site and reported the incident.
"It is deeply disappointing to see. I'll never understand the reasons behind such destruction.
"We must not let it hinder the great efforts being made in maintaining and improving the nature reserve."
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "A section of fencing has been vandalised at the Rhuddlan Local Nature Reserve.
"Our countryside service is responsible for managing the site and we have made arrangements for the damage to be repaired as soon as possible."
