THE FIRST batch of Anglesey League fixtures for the 2018/19 season have been released this week but one team won't be competing in August.

On Saturday night, every match to take place during the month of August was released to each club secretary.

However, last season's champions Mynydd Tigers will not have a game during that month, due to the fact that they are still awaiting a decision from the Football Association of Wales on whether or not they will be accepted into the Gwynedd League.

The other ten teams competing in the rebranded Lucas Oil Anglesey League will begin their new campaigns on August 10 and 11 respectively.

Newcomers Holyhead Hotspur Reserves will kick the season off with a home match against last season's cup double winners Arriva Bangor on Friday, August 10 (7pm ko).

Then, on Saturday August 11, Valley will take on Cemaes Bay, Bodorgan will face Cefni FC, Llandegfan will host Bryngwran Bulls and Caergybi will travel to Pentraeth Reserves (all 2.30pm ko).

With the number of teams in the division rising from nine to eleven for the 2018/19 season, midweek matches will be a regular occurrence.

League matches have been scheduled to take place on Tuesday August 14, Wednesday August 15, Friday August 17, Saturday August 18, Tuesday August 21, Wednesday August 22 and Saturday August 25.

The Dargie Cup will kick off on Monday August 27 with fixtures for that set to be announced in the coming weeks.
