PEOPLE from all over Wales, the UK and beyond had the chance to tune in and join with worship from Bangor Cathedral earlier today.

For the second time in a year, BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship programme was broadcast live from the Cathedral from 8:10am onwards.

The Dean of Bangor, the Very Rev’d Kathy Jones, who lead the service, said, “I was delighted when the BBC asked to come back and broadcast here again.

“Opportunities likes this give us all an ideal chance to reach out beyond our normal community and lead people in worship in their homes.”

As part of the Sunday Worship service, the Cathedral’s choir sang the anthem ‘The Doctrine of Wisdom’, by William Mathias.

The service itself celebrated St. Mary Magdalene, whose annual feast day fittingly takes place on Sunday, July 22.

The Bishop of Bangor - Right Reverend Andy John - who preached at the service said: "It was once again a privilege to share our Cathedral’s worship with people in many different places.

"It is wonderful to have this second opportunity to lead people in their worship, prayer and reflection.

"I pray that people will feel closer to God thanks to the gifts and dedication of Dean Kathy, our musicians and the many people in our team at Bangor Cathedral - as well as the BBC, of course!"
