A FIVE car crash near a primary school in Dyserth took place yesterday.

North Wales Police are investigating after a driver collided with a van and three cars on Lower Foel Road, Dyserth at 3.25pm on Wednesday.

The incident took place near Ysgol Hiraddug as children were being picked up from school.

One vehicle hit a parked van, which rammed into a parked Fiesta, which then shunted into two more parked cars.

Fraser Burns, whose one-year-old car was damaged in the incident, said: "We had just picked our daughter up from school and we went to my mum's on Lower Foel Road for a brew.

"We were in the house and heard a noise that sounded like a plane crashing - it was that loud.

"I ran out and could see a car full of smoke.

"I shouted at the driver and opened his door.

"I could see the air bag had gone off and he'd had a hell of a wallop.

"The first car he hit was a Fiesta and he'd hit it so hard it shunted into my car and my mum's.

"The only skid marks are from the cars that were shoved into each other from their hand brakes.

"My dad called the police and the driver who looked like he was in his eighties was cautioned.

"We're lucky nobody was hurt because all the kids were coming out of school".

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "We received a call at 3.32pm on Wednesday, July 18 to report a four vehicle collision on Lower Foel Road, Dyserth.

"The road was blocked until after 5pm.

"There were no injuries."
