A STAGE show born from the imagination and creativity of young talent will be brought to life this weekend.
Rhyl Little Theatre will host School Breakout – two nights of wholly original song and dance, written, performed and produced solely by youngsters from its children’s club. The show is based around the children’s own ideas, which they have developed.
The narrative is set in a strict boarding school, where the characters from different backgrounds and personalities decide to try to escape.
The children’s club members have worked hard over weeks of Saturday workshops to develop their ideas into an amazing and imaginative show, full of music and dance. Britain’s first purpose-built children’s theatre, The Little Theatre continues to foster budding talent well into its 55th year.
Rhyl Little Theatre secretary Neil Taylor said: “This is exactly what the Little Theatre was built for all these years ago.
“We’re extremely proud to work with the children and let them control the whole process of bringing a show to the stage.
“Children exited at putting on a show they wrote themselves. They’re not just learning lines and performing; it’s their ideas and their vision.”
School Breakout will take to the stage at the Little Theatre on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 with concessions £5.
