Police were called to the A55 at Rhuallt Hill on Saturday night after a man was seen walking across both carriageways trying to flag cars down.
Motorists were warned after the man swapped carriagways while vehicles were travelling at fast speed.
In a sequence of tweets beginning at 11.30pm, the North Wales Police said: "Drivers beware! Reports of a male walking in lane 2 on the westbound/eastbound carriagway on Rhuallt Hills - Seems to be swapping carriageways.
"Male is now in the middle of the westbound carriageway, trying to flag cars down.. cars at travelling at fast speed. Dangerous! Officers are en route on blue lights.
"Glad to report the male has been located and removed from the carriageway safe and well."
