THE impending arrival of The Range at Marina Quay will serve as a huge boost to the new £23 million retail park as well as to the rejuvenation of Rhyl, the home, leisure and garden superstore chain's founder says.

The new branch will open on Good Friday, March 30, creating 80 jobs.

It will be spread over two floors and will also include a café and an outdoor garden centre.

Chris Dawson, founder of The Range, said: "The job provision that comes with the new store should provide a great boost to the retail park and town of Rhyl.

"It is great to be part of such a large rejuvenation project in Rhyl.

"We look forward to welcoming our new customers

“This store has been on my radar for a long time so we are delighted to finally be able to confirm the opening date. ”

The retailer will join existing stores Farmfoods and Poundland at the site.

And Jack Abou-Jacoude – development manager for Scarborough International Properties (SIP), the firm behind the Marina Quay project – said: “Having worked closely with The Range, we are pleased to have secured this popular national retailer and are confident that they will complement the existing tenant mix.

The announcement of The Range's opening date followed months of uncertainty. It had originally been scheduled to open last spring.

Mr Abou-Jacoude added: “The Marina Quay retail park continues to attract new names and opportunities for local residents and visitors and we look forward to announcing them in due course.”
