A NURSERY owner has decided to ‘crèche’ her way into a new market and help ensure weddings can be enjoyed by both big and small guests alike.

Rebecca Wright’s new venture, Wonderland, allows brides, grooms and grown-up friends and family to enjoy the big day, safe in the knowledge that their children are also having fun, doing their own thing.

And the 39-year-old director of Daisy Chains Childcare in Prestatyn also offers a ‘hangover’ service, looking after youngsters the morning after so parents can have a lie in and recover..

Children are entertained by a qualified team of playworkers and nursery nurses in a vintage six-metre bell tent or indoor gazebo.

Wonderland even offers a ‘bespoke’ package – matching the colours or theme chosen by a couple – and runs activities such as arts and crafts, treasure hunts, face-painting, painting pottery and creating milkshakes.

In the evenings, the tent is transformed into a ‘slumber party’ where a film is put on and children can wrap themselves up in blankets.

Rebecca – who has two children herself: Harry, 10, and four-year-old Leah – said: “The idea actually came from my son’s christening, 10 years ago. I had the idea for parents to bring a few toys and it went so well, I thought ‘I’ve got something here’.

“So we’ve actually been running the service for 10 years, but it is only now that we have rebranded it and launched the crèche service formally.

“We want to provide a really high-end service. We go overboard with how we look, with fairy lights and smart outfits. We want to make it special for the children and it is a privilege to be part of a couple’s day.”

Former Prestatyn High School pupil Rebecca and her mum, Mary, bought Daisy Chains together in 2005 when it cared for 20 children and employed a handful of staff.

The former nanny, a PE and sports science graduate, worked tirelessly last summer to develop a pre-school facility at Bodnant School in Prestatyn.

Rebecca now cares for more than 130 children at Bodnant and the company’s Marine Road nursery.

The revamped facility now includes a £3,000 sensory room, to support youngsters with additional learning needs.
