LANDMARK hotel will re-open next month creating 45 new jobs.

The Talardy Hotel in St Asaph has been taken over by Marston's after it fell into receivership in June 2010 and is undergoing a major re-vamp.

It will re-open on August 6 offering 11 luxury ensuite bedrooms, as well as a restaurant and bar.

Alex Watson, area operations manager at Marston's Inns and Taverns, said: "We’re extremely excited about the opening of The Talardy Hotel.

“We’ve already appointed a manager, Amanda Hook, and applications are still open for other management, chef and front-of-house positions.”

The hotel was a popular wedding venue but fell on hard times before closing.

Earlier this year the hotel was granted a licence to serve alcohol until 1am after Denbighshire Council's licensing committee agreed to grant permission.

The hotel owners initially applied for the right to call last orders at 2am throughout the week.

Vale of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane said: “I am pleased that this hotel will be re-opening soon and providing much needed employment to the area.

“This is a prime location for visitors looking to explore St Asaph and the wonderful surrounding countryside and I hope Marston's does all it can to promote the area as a destination for tourists.

“We have so much to offer visitors from sand to sea to countryside and heritage and we should be making the most of it.”-
