A SINGER-SONGWRITER from Rhyl has released a new single that explores the difficulties of maintaining relationships with loved ones.
Colin T Jones’ latest song With You is a melodic piece in which he navigates a long-distance relationship that many could relate to during the coronavirus lockdown.
It begins with a simple guitar riff with Mr Jones pondering his loved one having moved away and out of his day-to-day life. The chorus then bursts with emotion as he sings “And I know I will never get to be with you” in a vocal style reminiscent of the Smashing Pumpkins.
The track, which was recorded at the Orange Sound Studio in Penmaenmawr, also features Denbigh guitarist Martyn Peters and was produced by Russ Hayes.
The singer-songwriter, who performs solo acoustic cover gigs at pubs, clubs, festivals and weddings across North Wales, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to release this new single, and I would like to thank Martyn and Russ for their help on the track. It sounds absolutely amazing and I’m so happy with the final recording.
“It’s a shame we can’t do a live gig to launch the song, but it’s been played on quite a few local radio stations so far and the feedback I’ve received has been so humbling.”
With You is now available on all streaming platforms.
