A COLOURFUL parade will chase away the winter blues and usher in the Year of the Metal Rat in Bangor.
Pontio's Theatr Bryn Terfel and Bangor University's Confucius Institute will celebrate Chinese New Year on Saturday, February 1 at 1pm, with a spectacular audio-visual feast of Chinese traditional music and dance.
The day will begin with a Dragon Parade at 12pm from the Cathedral to Pontio - via the clock tower - where there will be a Gala concert at Theatr Bryn Terfel at 1pm.
The concert is a kaleidoscope of fascinating performances by a young group of artists from London Southbank University featuring Martial Arts, a taste of Chinese opera, Erhu and Flute.
