BURLESQUE performers of all stripes from across the UK and Europe will congregate in Conwy this month for another captivating cabaret pageant.

The North Wales Burlesque and Cabaret Festival’s (NWBCF) Seren yn Codi - Rising Star - competition is returning to the Conwy Comrades Club for its semi final heat on Saturday, November 9.

Competitors are travelling from as far as Ireland and Norway will go head to head to win one of six coveted spots in the final, set to take takes place at Theatr Colwyn on Friday, January 24 2020 as part of the NWBCF proper next year.

As well as international performances, this year’s Seren yn Codi features the highest ever number of acts from North Wales seen in the competition, with the event once again proudly providing a launchpad for burgeoning burlesque performers.

Expect another diverse array of performers of all shapes, sizes and styles to create another mesmerising masterpiece guaranteed to dazzle and delight with outlandish performances and bawdy choreography.

Event organiser Kimberley Edmunds, who als performs as Foxee Stole, said: "I am so excited to see the wealth of talent applying to our competition.

I am humbled by both the number of local performers who want to work with us and the amount of international acts who are travelling to be apart of our creative community. I can’t wait to see the variety of skills on display.

"We have dancers, acrobats, pole dancers and ukulele players in this year’s semi-final. We even have a sideshow act with the performer walking on broken glass amongst other things! "There is something for everyone and whatever your taste you will not be disappointed."
