WELSH rock heroes The Stereophonics will grace the Venue Cymru stage next month.

Ahead of huge outdoor shows and festival appearances this summer, Kelly Jones and co will rock up to Llandudno for an intimate warm-up gig on Friday, 24 May.

The gig will follow the release of their gold certified album Scream Above The Sounds last year which was their staggering 10th studio album.

For those who still have the joy of discovering the homegrown elder statesmen of British guitar rock, the band consists of the inimitable gravelly vocals of Jones and fellow founding member and bassist Richard Jones along with guitarist Adam Zindani and drummer Jamie Morrison as well as long-term keyboardist Tony Kirkham.

This latest release sits alongside the Welsh storyteller songwriters six number one albums Keep The Village Alive, Performance and Cocktails, Just Enough Education To Perform, You Gotta Go There To Come Back, Language. Sex. Violence. Other? and Pull The Pin.

As one of Britain’s best live bands, The Stereophonics have been touring and performing to sell-out crowds across the globe and this summer will play all the classics from Thousand Trees to Dakota at This Is Tomorrow Festival, Westonbirt, Eden Project and Lytham Festival before their massive show in Singleton Park, Swansea - which sold out in ten minutes.

Stereophonics frontman Jones will also be embarking on a solo tour including a special date at London’s Eventim Apollo on Sunday June 16th.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 12 at 10am and are available via gigsandtours.com, ticketmaster.co.uk, myticket.co.uk and stereophonics.com.
