TRADITIONAL London double decker buses are heading for the streets of Llangollen over Easter.

Visitors will be able to enjoy sightseeing tours on board the iconic vintage red buses while taking in the stunning views on a ride up to the summit of the Horseshoe Pass and at the World Heritage Site at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

The 60-minute trips are being staged by Routemaster4Hire over the Easter weekend, April 19 to 22, with three departures per day.

Joe Bickerton, Destination Manager at Wrexham Council says the tours will help mark the 10th year of the World Heritage site.

“It’s great to see another new tourism business set-up to enhance the visitor offer within the World Heritage Site. The Routemaster bus is an iconic British vehicle and will be a popular attraction for our visitors from around the globe when they visit the site,” he said.

“Connectivity is vital part of the overall visitor experience so that the various engineering marvels

are showcased and the new routes will help generate additional business for traders.”

Routemaste4Hire Managing Director David Lee revealed: “After Easter our plan is to run the tours at weekends and increase services to five days a week over the summer holidays. We have an open-top and two standard Routemasters so the weather won’t be a problem.”

The cost of each tour is £7 for adults and £5 for children, with concessions of £5 for the over 65s. Children under four travel free. Pre-bookings can be taken on 01978 799 909.
