After months of waiting the Range will finally have its grand opening in Rhyl this week.

The long awaited store, at Scarborough International Properties £23 million Marina Quay development, will be opened by Cllr Alan James, Mayor of Rhyl at 9am on Good Friday with prizes on offer for its first customers.

Cllr James said: “On behalf of the town council, I’d like to offer a warm welcome to The Range, the latest business to open at Marina Quay. It’s heartening to see a national brand investing in Rhyl, creating jobs in the process.”

The Journal reported last year that the large home, leisure and garden superstore's planned Christmas opening had to be pushed back after delays fitting out the store.

The store, which will also includes a café and a outdoor garden centre, is expected to create more than 80 full and part-time jobs.

The grand opening will begin with giveaways for the first 50 people in the queue, including a star prize for the first in-line and a competition for one lucky customer to walk away with a £250 store gift card.

Providing entertainment will be the company's mascot, Captain Range, and Heart North Wales radio team. There will be celebrations throughout the Easter weekend including children’s face painting in store craft demonstrations.

Chris Dawson, the owner and founder of The Range commented on the upcoming opening: “We are very lucky with the staff we have and I look forward to welcoming the new team members to the company. I would like to invite the community of Rhyl and further afield to join us for the opening on Good Friday and discover the fantastic selection of products that we offer.”
