William Oswald Jones BEM 1927 - 2019 Bill Jones passed away on June 19th after a prolonged period in hospital aged 91. He is survived by his wife Honora (Norrie), his sister Enfys, his son Francis and four daughters, Bernadine, Geraldine, Marese and Honora. A whole generation of Ysgol Mair pupils and staff will recognise this photo as Mr Bill Jones, the caretaker at Ysgol Mair from 1975 till 1992. He was also very active with the Catholic Church and youth club and the community for which he was recognised with the British Empire Medal from the Queen. However you met him everyone agreed, he was the perfect gentleman and the best father and husband anyone could wish for. The funeral will take place at 2pm on Wednesday 10th June at the Catholic Church on Wellington Road and there will only be family flowers. Others please donate to Cancer Research UK.
