A NUMBER of campervans that have been parked on Rhyl’s Marina Quay retail park for almost a week have left the area.

The Journal reported earlier this week that at least seven vehicles had been parked at the site, believed to belong to the traveller community.

Residents said the vehicles had been parked there since Friday, with one telling the Journal there were “kids playing out in the car park with footballs, and there was rubbish on the floor and the grass”.

Councillor Alan James told the Journal that he was aware that the "police had been involved" since the campervans' arrival.

Today, a local business told the Journal that the site had now been vacated.

The move is understood to have come following instructions to have the bailiff serve a vacation notice, which would last for 24 hours.

FIM Capital Limited, the manager of First World Hybrid Real Estate plc, which owns Marina Quay retail park, said the park's appointed property manager, Redpath Bruce, was aware of the situation.

A FIM Capital Limited spokesperson said: "Redpath Bruce alerted us to this incident yesterday, which occurred over the weekend, and instructions were issued immediately to have the bailiff serve notice on the occupants of the caravans and campervan to vacate the site within 24 hours.

"If they fail to do so voluntarily, the bailiff has been instructed to enforce the terms of the notice and have the said occupants and their vehicles removed from the property."
