PRESTATYN Sports are one win away from clinching the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two title after a thumping 9-0 home win over Llanfairpwll.

Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ side turned in another ruthless performance to extend their unbeaten league campaign and put them within touching distance of the crown, which they can finally seal during their trip to Y Felinheli on May 19.

They could wrap up the title before then if Bodedern Athletic fail to drop points in any of their remaining fixtures.

The home side got off to a flyer and were two-up within the opening 17 minutes courtesy of strikes from Shane Middleman and James Harper, and the former was on hand to notch his second of the afternoon on the half hour mark.

After the break saw an own goal on 46 minutes all-but seal another vital three points, with Mike Jones and Mike Hinds also hitting the target in the early exchanges.

Jones bagged his brace for the rampant hosts on 70 minutes, and Middleman capped off a sensational individual performance with his hat-trick in stoppage time to complete the rout.

Division One side St Asaph City turned in a highly encouraging performance to come away with a 2-0 home triumph over Llanberis.

A nervy opening to proceedings was turned on its head thanks to a quick-fire brace on 75 and 77 minutes from the talented Jake Walker, and Saints saw out the remainder of the contest with minimal fuss to secure their fifth league win of the campaign.
