A SENSATIONAL 60-yard wonder strike in stoppage time from Jordan Phillips gave Mochdre Sports a dramatic 3-2 home win over Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two rivals looked to be sharing the spoils before another moment of magic from the prolific forward, who has enjoyed another wonderful campaign at the club.

Despite the eventual result it was the away side that got their noses in front early on when Lee Ellis finished well on six minutes, but Sports responded well to the setback and levelled matters after 35 when Niall Owen broke clear and slotted home.

After the break saw the visitors begin the brighter yet again and regained their advantage after 55 minutes when Ellis pounced to notch his second of the evening following a prolonged period of pressure.

This provoked another strong response from the home side, who restored parity to the scoreline on 75 minutes when Dan Miller found the net, and with the game heading towards its conclusion, Phillips tried his luck from deep within his own half and launched a stunning effort over the visiting keeper to give the home side all three points.

Division One side Llandudno Albion had nothing to show for a long Bank Holiday Monday trip as they fell to a 2-1 reverse at Barmouth and Dyffryn United.

Goals from Carl Ryan and Paul Lewis put the hosts in a commanding position, and despite Conor Davies levelling matters on 78 minutes it was not enough to rescue a point for Paul Cheung’s side.

Llanrwst United were unable to hold on to an early advantage and had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Nantlle Vale.

Matty Molyneux got them off to the perfect start with a well-taken effort on three minutes, but they were pegged back after the break when Rhys Williams secure a point for the hosts after 58.
