BODEDERN Athletic strengthened their Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two title chances with a 4-1 home success over Llanfairpwll.
The home side made light work of their opponents to keep pace with fellow contenders Prestatyn Sports and Glan Conwy, with K C Boylan, Shaun Jenkins, Rory Kelly and Keenan Downey all finding the net in the one-sided affair.
The victory sees them move to within five points of Sports with a game in hand, and they are also 13 behind Glan with seven games to spare.
Nathan Moore was the star of the show for Aberffraw, who picked up a huge win on their travels with a 3-1 triumph at Amlwch Town.
The talented forward was in ruthless form and managed to secure a hat-trick for his efforts, despite Adam Taylor opening the scoring for the home side on 24 minutes.
Llannefydd also returned to winning ways thanks to a narrow 2-1 win over Mochdre Sports, with first half efforts from Morgan Owen and Sam Jones enough to see off a late fightback stemming from Jordan Phillips’ late strike on 86 minutes for the inconsistent Sports.
Rounding off Tuesday’s fixture success was Y Felinheli, who left it extremely late to record a 3-2 home victory over Gaerwen.
Dafydd Owen got the visitors off to a flyer with a well-taken effort on four minutes, before goals either side of half-time from Griff John and Iwan Edwards gave the home side a slender advantage heading into the closing stages.
The away side looked to have secured a point when Osian Jones levelled on 70 minutes, but a stoppage time finish from Ryan Crane gave the hosts a thrilling win on home soil.
