LLANRUG United remain in contention for the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One crown after a 2-1 victory at Llanberis.

The in-form side produced an accomplished performance to ensure a crucial win on their travels, and the result leaves them 17 points leaders Llangefni Town with six games in hand.

The away side began the game on the front foot and were rewarded just before the break when the prolific Allan Mark Owen was on hand to convert a chance on 42 minutes to take his tally to 14 league goals for the season.

After the break saw United continue to dominate proceedings, and they managed to double their advantage on 79 minutes when Jonathan Sadler finished well following a period of sustained pressure.

This provoked a strong response from the home side, who found a route back into the game late on when David Jones reduced the arrears on 88 minutes, but the visitors held firm and managed to hold on for a deserved success.

Mynydd Llandegai left it late before securing a share of the spoils after a 1-1 home draw with Nantlle Vale.

A tight first period brought little in the way of chances, but things opened up after the interval and it was the away side that drew first blood through Phil Warrington on 70 minutes.

The hosts responded well to the setback and managed to seal a point for their efforts on 80 minutes when Gareth Owen levelled matters, leaving Vale languishing at the basement and five points from safety with six games remaining.
