MOCHDRE Sports produced a stunning fightback to rescue a share of the spoils in their 2-2 home draw with Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two rivals Llanfairpwll.

The home side avoided what would have been a damaging defeat against the current basement dwellers in terms of their battle for survival, and the stalemate leaves them four points above the drop zone with a number of games in hand on the bottom two.

A nervy first half brought little in the way of scoring opportunities, but the visitors drew first blood after the break when Gareth Parry’s effort flew into the net on 53 minutes.

Things became even more concerning soon after when Moses York broke clear and doubled the away side’s advantage on 72 minutes following another impressive spell of possession.

This finally sprung the hosts into life and they managed to claim a point from the contest thanks to a pair of quick-fire goals in the closing stages of the contest, with Dam Miller getting them off the mark and reducing the arrears on 74 minutes.

With momentum now fully with the home side, Tom Clarke popped up with a leveller on 76 minutes to continue his exceptional recent run of form.

Division One title contenders Llandudno Albion and Llanrwst United were left frustrated as their respective games against Llanberis and Pwllheli fell victim to the weather.

There was some good news from an Albion perspective as manager Paul Cheung was named Queensferry Sports Welsh Alliance league Division One manager of the month for March after guiding his side on an impressive run of form that has put them in championship contention.
