LLANGEFNI Town managed to avoid a Mawddach Challenge Cup upset as they secured a heavy 11-0 win over Meliden.

The visitors were no match for the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title challengers, who opened the scoring after just two minutes when Kai Roberts found the net.

This was swiftly followed by an Iwan Jones effort on 11 minutes which doubled their advantage, and Craig Roberts also struck on 28 to all-but seal the tie.

The goals kept coming in quick succession after the break, with Jones firing home his second of the afternoon on 49 minutes following a rampant start to period, which also saw Jack Williams and Osian Jones increase their advantage further on 52 and 63 respectively.

Harry Galeotti was the next member of Chris Roberts’ side to get in on the act on 64 minutes, and another free-flowing attack resulted in James Saxon finishing well on 74.

There was still time for further joy for the home side, with the prolific Roberts rounding off another superb individual display with two quick-fire goals on 81 and 84 to complete his hat-trick in fine style.

Galeotti also added to his tally on 83 minutes to round off a miserable day at the office for the Division Two side.
