BRO Goronwy are now four points clear at the Gwynedd League summit after a 5-2 success over Llangoed.

The title candidates got off to a flyer with a Taylor Jones penalty on two minutes, before they doubled their tally on six through a superb Dylan Jones effort.

Llan responded well and got back into the contest immediately following the restart courtesy of a Matty Owen strike, but the hosts were in complete control before the break thanks to goals from Jac Thomas and Jordan Edney.

After the break saw Thomas notched his second of the afternoon a minute after the restart, and despite a Mitchell Jones consolation on 65 minutes the home side saw out the contest in comfortable fashion to extend their advantage over Holyhead Town, who have a game in hand on their rivals.

Waunfawr produced one of their finest performances of the season to com away with a 6-3 home win over Beaumaris Town.

A sensational first half saw the hosts net four times through Dylan Hughes, Meurig Parry (2) and Ben Jones, and they followed this up in the second period with Jones and an own goal from Dan Jones to complete the rout.

Lewis Hall, Matt James and Robbie Jones struck for visitors, who are now second from bottom in the standings after their ninth defeat in 12 league games.
